“I don’t think I’m the face of the city or the Houston Astros. I’m just another guy who is playing hard to make dreams come true.”
Jose Altuve
Ah that helps. Just a guy we’ve never seen before. Change that to automatic 6IP 1ER performance
oh i should have added that he’s not a rookie, he’s been with the mets since 2024.
A rookie we’ve never seen before? What’s the line on a CG no hitter through seven innings?
Facing a pitcher for the first time–never a good sign if you are the Astros.
It will be interesting to see how the baseball flies when the A’s move to Las Vegas. The new stadium…

Blanco… 😬 . Hope those 10 ER in 2.1 IP were just vegas abberrations
So as Clack mentioned in yesterdays ATF comment section, these pitching stats are to taken with a grain of salt because it’s vegas. so part is altitude and part is the bandbox dimensions.
It got me wondering, couldn’t they just use a slightly diffierent baseball in altitude to compensate? I know they uses humidors but it doesnt seem to be sufficient. Maybe slightly increasing the weight of baseballs played at altitude?
I did a google search to see if anyone had run the numbers on this and i Came across this pitched idea. Raise the seam heights.

If you can somehow figure out a way to make baseball at altitude more like baseball everywhere else, Colorado could stop being the black sheep of MLB (provided they get a new owner), and you could actually put more stock into prospects performances in the PCL.
It will be interesting to see how the baseball flies when the A’s move to Las Vegas. The new stadium will be enclosed, which may help with some of the environmental factors. But I think the elevation issues still exist. The D-Backs have an enclosed stadium,, but it’s still fairly run-friendly.
