I’ll keep this preview short today, but the trade deadline is hopping. The Astros acquired Daulton Varsho to help beef up the outfield in exchange for Spencer Arrighetti. With the Blue Jays in town, Varsho and Arrighetti will only have to move from one dugout to another.
Are the Astros done? Possibly not.
With the deadline fast approaching at 6 PM ET (5 PM CT), Dana Brown doesn’t have much time left. But another pitcher, whether a starter or right-handed reliever, would make sense.

Daulton Varsho in 99 games, he is batting .243 with 7 home runs, 26 RBIs, 39 runs scored, a .307 on-base percentage (OBP), and a .375 slugging percentage (SLG). He is a good defender. We’ve got fleeced again.
What? We can get to the post-season without a LHB outfielder? Arrighetti has way more value than a defense first, rental. BS!
It reminds me of Dusty who couldn’t live without a left handed something, a relief pitcher? I think, or a LHB to get a lineup of L-R-L-R-L….double BS!
Say it again….we traded Arrighetti and are looking for a pitcher?
