I’ve been burned a couple of times this season, but I’ll say it again: I am intrigued by today’s pitching matchup. Spencer Arrighetti has somewhat stabilized the rotation, with the Astros winning all four of his starts (1.96 ERA in 23 innings). While his peripherals aren’t as encouraging, you can’t deny that the results so far have been positive. If Houston has any hope of turning this season around, it’ll need more quality starts from Arrighetti.
The Reds will counter with one of the game’s top-20 starters in Chase Burns, who has been that club’s best pitchers to start the season. And, frankly, it isn’t all that close among his teammates.
Burns has one of the most dynamic arms in the game today, so I am curious to see how he throws against the Astros.
