Astros’ fans have spent the off-season making fun of Nick Allen’s lack of hitting skill. But Shewmake will replace him and he appears to be a worse hitter than Allen, with a wRC+ in the 70’s in AAA. He is characterized as a light hitting shortstop.
i presume he must at least be a plus fielder… hopefully.
I assume so. He is reputed to be a good shortstop.
