Following a game on Wednesday with hardly any regulars for the Astros, we’re going to see plenty today.
Notice the lineup configuration from Joe Espada. While it will change when Jeremy Peña and Carlos Correa plays, we’re seeing what the framework could generally look like, particularly as long as Isaac Paredes remains an Astro. It is interesting to note that Zach Cole gets a look as the cleanup hitter in a game with numerous regulars starting. With little traction at the moment of acquiring another left-handed bat for the outfield, the organization is all but asking Cole to assume one of the outfield jobs.
We also get another look at Tatsuya Imai, starting opposite of Sandy Alcantara. It’s sort of a shame this pitching matchup occurred in Spring Training instead of the regular season, but it should be fun to follow nonetheless.
